McCormick was cleared to begin working out with the Astros on Saturday but hasn't resumed hitting as of yet, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

McCormick was placed on the injured list Tuesday due to lower-back tightness. The outfielder is eligible to come off the IL this coming Tuesday, but he'll likely need to complete a short rehab stint before the Astros are comfortable bringing him back.
