Workman struck out three and walked one while giving up seven runs on 10 hits over 3.1 innings Saturday. The right-hander needed 84 pitches to record 10 outs, and the seven runs allowed were a season high. Workman is currently lined up to oppose the Rays in Tampa Bay on Friday, but an off-day Thursday affords the Red Sox flexibility if they have the desire to skip Workman's turn in the rotation during the upcoming week.
