Santana (groin) is expected to make his final rehab appearance at Double-A Portland on Tuesday, Ian Browne of MLB.com reports.

The Red Sox were hopeful that Santana would be back with the team as early as Monday, but he'll require at least one more rehab game before returning to the majors. The team would have some more flexibility if he's activated Wednesday since the team's active roster will expand to 28 players Sept. 1. The 30-year-old has gone 7-for-14 with two home runs, a double, five runs, four RBI and three stolen bases across his five rehab appearances.
