Withrow (elbow) agreed to a one-year contract with the Braves on Thursday, avoiding arbitration, Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
EDGE Analysis
The last we saw of Withrow at the major league level in 2014, he was walking far too many batters but also missing bats, posting a 2.95 ERA in 21.1 innings with the Dodgers despite issuing 18 free passes. He underwent Tommy John surgery in the summer of 2014 but is expected to be fully healthy for spring training, where he will attempt to lock down a bullpen gig with the Braves.
