With Hunter Pence (forearm) likely to start the year on the DL, Travis Ishikawa is the likely candidate to claim his spot on the 25-man roster. Ishikawa played such a vital role in postseason of the Giants' 2014 championship run that they re-signed the journeyman to a one-year deal this offseason. With Pence going down this spring, manager Bruce Bochy will likely carry five outfielders to shuffle in and out of the lineup for the start of the season, and Ishikawa is a strong candidate to be one of the five. He is slashing .269/.406/.462 through 26 at-bats this spring.
