Wilton Lopez holds a 10.80 ERA and has allowed 10 hits in just 3 1/3 innings so far this season. Much of the damage came on Opening Day, when Lopez allowed three runs on four hits over an inning of work. Still, he's given up a run an six hits since then while striking out just one batter. The reliever's velocity has been down a tick so far, but so far there's been no talk that last year's elbow issue is a problem again. Lopez could get passed by Rex Brothers as the Rockies' backup plan at closer if his struggles continue.
