Wilson has gotten the start at catcher in four of the Rays' last eight games over the struggling Rene Rivera. Wilson isn't exactly lighting the world on fire with his bat, but his .167/.242/.167 slash line has at least been decent compared to Rivera's .136/.176/.210 line. Rivera possesses the far higher ceiling considering his .751 OPS last season, but he might miss more time if the problems continue.
