Red Sox manager Alex Cora had said previously that it was unlikely O'Neill would return before the end of this week, but evidently the outfielder is coming along more quickly than anticipated. O'Neill hasn't played since Aug. 2 due to a leg infection but is with the Red Sox in Baltimore and has been ramping up his baseball activities.
