Whitley (elbow) turned in a strong outing in his first rehab appearance for High-A Charlotte on Monday night, striking out the side over an inning of work while giving up a hit.

The Tommy John surgery-recoveree's first game action couldn't have gone much better, with Whitley missing plenty of bats and throwing 12 of his 20 pitches for strikes. The 27-year-old's next appearance will likely come Saturday against Brevard.
