Whitley (1-1) struck out four over four scoreless innings in Saturday's 3-2 Grapefruit League win over the Blue Jays, giving up two hits and one walk.

EDGE Analysis

Whitley was masterful after getting hit around in relief on March 14, as he stymied a Blue Jays lineup that included regulars Troy Tulowitzki, Kendrys Morales and Kevin Pillar. Although he's still competing for a bullpen role, manager Kevin Cash won't rule out using Whitley as a starter. The 27-year-old righty could also make for an outstanding option in long relief, given his ability to eat up innings.
