Kansas City Royals second baseman Whit Merrifield has been traded to the Toronto Blue Jays. This is a bit of an odd move considering Merrifield's vaccination status. All players who play in Toronto must be vaccinated and Merrifield missed a series earlier in Toronto due to his status. Regardless, the Royals will receive infielders Samad Taylor and Max Castillo in exchange for Merrifield.
