Wei-Yin Chen's bid for a perfect game against the Mariners ended in the seventh inning Tuesday, but he allowed only two runs on two hits and no walks over 7 1/3 innings of a victory. He struck out nine. Chen was perfect through 6 1/3 innings before giving up a solo homer to Casper Wells. He was pulled with one out in the eighth and Pedro Strop allowed his inherited runner to score. Strop went on to give up two additional runs to tie the game at four and deprive Chen of a victory. The seven-inning outing was Chen's third in five starts. He's now 7-4 with a 3.64 ERA and 1.24 WHIP.
