Weeks is hitting at the leadoff position for Wednesday's game and may find himself in the number one spot during the regular season, Ryan Divish of Seattle Times reports. Weeks batted leadoff in 623 of his 1,026 career starts with the Brewers. He batted .265/.353/.445 with 125 doubles, 22 triples and 100 home runs. Until Wednesday, the Mariners had endorsed Austin Jackson as their leadoff man (.276/.337/.405 at leadoff in 622 of 695 his career starts). Manager Lloyd McClendon is playing around with the line up and throughout the season, may switch up who is leadoff man. Weeks is expected to split time in left field with Dustin Ackley, and he is also a candidate for the second spot in the order along with Seth Smith and Justin Ruggiano.
