WEEI's Rob Bradford reports that there has been "solid interest" in free agent outfielder Jason Bay. Which means that he's likely to do better than a non-guaranteed minor league contract. Bay, 34, batted just .165/.237/.299 in 70 games this past season for the Mets and .245/.329/.374 in 123 games the year before. The Red Sox were said to be "in contact" with him in mid-November but are no longer interested in a reunion.
