Weaver was diagnosed Saturday with mild degenerative changes in the cervical spine and will follow up with a spine specialist Monday, Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Angels continue to say that Weaver has not been shut down, and he will continue his throwing progressions, although he won't make Monday's scheduled start. Everything would have needed to go right for Weaver to be useful in mixed leagues this year, and he is obviously not off to a good start. If Weaver is forced to miss any time, that would leave two rotation spots for Hector Santiago, Matt Shoemaker, Tyler Skaggs and Nick Tropeano to compete for.
