Weaver looked strong during a Cactus League outing against the Rangers on Monday, allowing just a solo home run in five innings while striking out five. There was no radar gun at the game, so there is no word as to whether his velocity showed an uptick, but it didn't seem to matter, as weaver retired 15 of the 16 batters he faced on the afternoon. The 32-year-old said he recognized a flaw in his mechanics after his last start, which could make him interesting to watch going forward, but Weaver could still make prospective owners nervous if he heads into the regular season with an 83 mph fastball.
