Weaver allowed two runs over six innings en route to a no-decision against the Astros on Friday. Weaver struck out three without walking a batter, but allowed his fourth home run in three starts. The 32-year-old is sporting an average fastball velocity of 83.3 miles per hour and while that could pick up a bit as the season progresses, his lack of velocity appears to have made him vulnerable to the long ball, as he allowed a career-worst 1.1/9 last season. Weaver's experience on the mound should allow him to navigate post some quality outings, but the tendency to allow homers is concerning, as keeping the ball in the park was a major strength for the veteran early in his career. He will take the ball against the A's on Wednesday.
