Weaver allowed two runs on three hits and no walks across six innings en route to a no-decision Tuesday against the Rockies. He struck out five.
EDGE Analysis
Weaver displayed sound control in this one and threw first-pitch strikes to 19-21 batters while pounding the zone at a 71 percent clip. His only two mistakes resulted in solo homers by Carlos Gonzalez in the fourth inning and Charlie Blackmon in the sixth, costing him a chance at a win as he exited a tie game after retiring the side. Weaver wasn't convincing in his first start when he gave up four runs to the Dodgers over five innings, but a quality start at Coors Field indicates that he still has something left in the tank. He will look to build on this solid effort Monday against the Braves.
