Prospective owners should be more concerned about Weaver's velocity than his stat line, as his fastball sat from 82-84 mph in the contest, Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times reports. Manager Mike Scioscia said that drop is an issue of mechanics, but for someone who averaged barely more than 86 mph on his heater last season, any sort of decline could be a concern. Weaver's ERA has risen in each of the past three seasons, culminating in a 3.59 mark last year, his worst since 2009.
