Weaver allowed three runs on seven hits in 5.1 innings en route to a no-decision against the Red Sox on Tuesday. He walked four while striking out just one in the contest. The fate of Weaver and the Halos could have been quite different if not for Kole Calhoun, who made a spectacular catch at the left field wall to rob a would-be three-run blast off the bat of Brock Holt in the second inning. Aside from a spectacular May, when he pitched to a 1.98 ERA in five starts, Weaver has been mediocre this season, having not tallied an ERA lower than 3.94 in any other month. He will attempt to have a less exciting outing when he takes the ball against the A's on Sunday.
