Wainwright suffered a left ankle injury and will be reevaluated upon the team's return to St. Louis following Sunday's game. This really does little to inform owners about the severity of Wainwright's injury, as there are some ankle injuries that would not prevent him from making his next start and other such injuries that could sideline him for a lengthy period. He was injured in the batter's box in the fifth inning Saturday and was in the midst of pitching a gem against the Brewers. With Marco Gonzales (shoulder) on the minor league DL, Tim Cooney and Tyler Lyons represent a couple potential replacement options in the rotation should Wainwright have to miss time.
