Wainwright (elbow) is OK with having a limited workload during spring training, but he intends to handle a normal volume of innings once the regular season begins, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports. After throwing a bullpen session Friday on the first day of camp for the team's pitchers and catchers, Wainwright is on the exact same schedule that he kept a year ago. At this point, his October elbow surgery appears to be a non-issue. Wainwright has been able to throw all of his pitches in bullpen sessions thus far, including a new cut fastball that he's been toying with. It remains to be seen if the Cards will actually scale back Wainwright's regular season innings as has been suggested during the winter, but short of putting him at the back end of the schedule for the Grapefruit League rotation, things appear to be business as usual for Wainwright as spring training begins.
