Wainwright (Achilles) no longer requires the use of crutches and he believes there's a realistic chance he will pitch yet this season in September or October, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports. Wainwright was believed to be out for the season when he suffered a torn Achilles tendon in late April. There's a good chance the Cardinals will make the playoffs and if they do it sounds like Wainwright might be able to help. It's highly unlikely he provides any meaningful innings for fantasy owners this season, though.
