Vargas is out of the lineup Sunday against the Rangers. In his last five starts, he's gone 3-for-19 with nine strikeouts, suggesting that making contact will remain an ongoing issue for the slugging DH. Vargas will be replaced in Sunday's lineup by Eduardo Nunez, and could lose out on further at-bats if he fails to get going soon.
