Utley went 3-for-4 with a double, a home run and a pair of runs scored in Monday's loss to Cleveland.
EDGE Analysis
The 38-year-old's big day at the plate brought his Cactus League slash line up to .364/.395/.576 in 36 plate appearances. Utley was already considered a near-lock for the Opening Day roster as a backup infielder, and his strong spring further solidifies that role. The veteran won't have much value in fantasy circles in a backup role, but if Corey Seager (back) is forced to miss any time to begin the year, then Utley would presumably see regular playing time at second (with Logan Forsythe moving to short) until the start shortstop returns.
