Utley was placed on the 15-day DL on Tuesday with right ankle inflammation. While this is disappointing on many levels, Utley had probably been doing more damage than good to fantasy rosters so far this season, and health issues were likely strongly contributing to his struggles. Cesar Hernandez and Andres Blanco should see time at second base in the meantime and Darin Ruf was recalled from Triple-A Lehigh Valley to offer depth while Utley is sidelined.
