Updating a previous report, Moss said Thursday that undergoing microfracture surgery on his right hip after the season would represent a "worst-case scenario," according to Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle.
Moss will still require a procedure to address the bone-on-bone issue with his hip, but there's a possibility it can be rectified through minor surgical clean-up. However, if microfracture surgery is necessary, Moss' availability for the start of spring training could be impacted. While his potentially uncertain health entering 2015 makes him somewhat of a risky keeper option, Moss believes he'll be able to play close to everyday for the remainder of the regular season and postseason, after receiving a cortisone shot as a short-term pain-prevention measure.
