Tyler Skaggs yielded five runs on eight hits over six innings Thursday in a no-decision to the Rays. The left-hander struck out five and walked one. Skaggs isn't going to overpower you, so there'll be nights like this where the vagaries of batted balls determine his fate. Tonight lady luck turned her back, spiking his ERA to 4.53 (to go with a nice 1.16 WHIP). Skaggs has a spectacular matchup on Wednesday when he hosts the hapless Astros.
