Tyler Skaggs coughed up four runs on seven hits over six innings in a no-decision against the A's on Wednesday. The young southpaw struck out two and walked three. He wasn't awful, but he made one unforgivable mistake on a 2-1 pitch to Brandon Moss with two men on and two outs in the fourth inning. That ball was blasted over the right field fence, and Oakland had a 4-1 lead it wouldn't have relinquished if Luke Gregerson had done his job. Skaggs (3.43 ERA) will return to a familiar NL environment when he travels to Washington next week.
