Tyler Skaggs allowed three runs (two earned) over eight-plus innings in Saturday's 5-3 win over the Blue Jays. Skaggs allowed an RBI double to Edwin Encarnacion in the first inning, but cruised from there, retiring 21 batters in a row at one point. He entered the ninth inning with a chance at a complete game, but was pulled after giving up back-to-back hits. Both inherited runners eventually came around to score against Joe Smith. While Skaggs unraveled in the end, it was nice to see after he was knocked around for six runs over 2 2/3 innings last time out. The southpaw struck out four and walked none in the victory and now holds a 4.14 ERA and 28/12 K/BB ratio in 45 2/3 innings through seven starts. He'll try to build off this one in a start against the Rays next week.
