Matzek impressed in his MLB debut Wednesday -- limiting the Braves to two runs over seven-plus innings -- but Los Angeles ensured his first game against a division rival didn't go as smoothly. The rookie 23-year-old left-hander was pitching about an hour away from his hometown of Mission Viejo, and it's possible nerves were an issue. Despite possessing good stuff, the 11th overall pick in the 2009 draft failed to strike out a batter tonight. Matzek has a Sunday matinee scheduled against the Brewers on Blake Street.
