Twins first base prospect Kennys Vargas went 2-for-5 with a home run for Double-A New Britain on Tuesday. The switch-hitting Vargas has hit a home run in each of his last three games, and five of his last nine, raising his season line to .321/.393/.538 with 12 doubles and 13 home runs. He has 29 walks (11.0 percent) and 42 strikeouts (16.0%) in 263 plate appearances, and could see time in Minnesota when rosters expand in September.
