Turner's contract was purchased from Triple-A Charlotte in advance of Sunday's start against the Angels, Scot Gregor of the Daily Herald reports.

With manager Robin Ventura looking to rest rotation members Chris Sale and Jose Quintana following their appearance in last Tuesday's All-Star Game, Turner will step in to fill out the starting staff. The White Sox currently have a vacancy in their rotation with Carlos Rodon (wrist) on the DL, but Turner doesn't project to stay with the team once Rodon returns. Turner owns a 4.71 ERA across 107 innings at Charlotte this season.
