Troy Renck of the Denver Post reports that the Rockies are "closing in" on a trade for Wilton Lopez. The Phillies reached an agreement to acquire Lopez last week, but the deal reportedly fell through due to physical issues with the right-hander. Evidently that hasn't deterred the Rockies from pursuing him. Lopez deal with elbow issues with the Astros in 2012 but posted a 1.85 ERA over his final 32 games after returning from the DL. Renck expects the Astros to receive two young pitchers in the deal.
