Trout's strikeout rate has continued to soar in 2014, as he has now fanned nine times in his last seven games. While the lack of contact has likely led to a lower batting average than we are accustomed to seeing (.289), he is showing no shortage of power, having tallied a .558 slugging percentage in 498 at-bats this season.
