Trout went 1-for-4 with a solo home run and three strikeouts in a loss to the Mariners on Monday. Trout homered to open the scoring in the first inning before whiffing in his next three at-bats. The 23-year-old picked up where he left off in 2014, as he tallied a career high in both punchouts (184) and homers (36) in 157 games. Trout said in the offseason that he will be more aggressive in order to cut down on the whiffs, but It will be interesting to see if he tries to adjust as the season progresses.
