Trout (hamstring) is batting third as the designated hitter Thursday against the Tigers.
EDGE Analysis
While he isn't quite ready to return to the field, Trout is back in the starting lineup after missing the last five games with a tight hamstring. If all goes well Thursday, he should be able to take the field before the weekend series against Detroit is over, though the Angels likely won't rush that. Trout will look to pick up where he left off before his hamstring acted up, as the two-time MVP is in the midst of a 17-game hitting streak and owns a gaudy triple slash of .355/.446/.700 through 30 games.
