Though he had worked in a relief role all season, Triggs was tabbed for a spot start Saturday, working three innings and surrendering one run on three hits. Since the large workload likely would have left him unavailable out of the bullpen for the next several days, the Athletics will switch him out with a fresh arm in Liam Hendriks (elbow), who will make his return from the 15-day DL.
