Travis Wood was lousy in Friday's loss in Arizona, allowing five runs on five hits and three walks in five innings. Wood surrendered two home runs, including a two-run shot off the bat of Justin Upton. The non-quality outing was his third straight, and leaves him with a 6-13 through 25 starts. However, if Wood takes the ball for Wednesday's season finale, he'll do so the owner of a 4.39 ERA and 1.20 WHIP through 149 2/3 frames. Those numbers are probably better than the Cubs were hoping for.
