T.R. Sullivan of MLB.com reports that the Rangers are now trying to work out a contract with Geovany Soto before Friday's 11:59 p.m. ET non-tender deadline. Soto earned $4.3 million this past season while hitting just .198/.270/.343 and is arbitration-eligible for the final time this winter. He'll be non-tendered if the two sides can't work out a new deal in the next few hours.
