Tony Cingrani yielded two runs in four innings Friday against the Brewers. Cingrani needed 85 pitches just to get 12 outs. The rookie left-hander allowed five hits and two walks while whiffing four. He kept the Reds off the board for the first three innings before giving up back-to-back homers to Jean Segura and Ryan Braun in his final frame. Cingrani still holds an excellent 2.89 ERA through five starts, but he has allowed six home runs in 28 innings. Johnny Cueto is nearing his return from the disabled list, so the Reds will have to make a decision between Cingrani and Mike Leake soon.
