Tony Cingrani only lasted five innings, but he struck out eight and held the Marlins to one run to win his first major league start in Thursday's 11-1 victory. Cingrani allowed five hits, including a long homer to Justin Ruggiano, while issuing three free passes. He required 102 pitches to cover the five frames. The young left-hander's fastball was as advertised, and he used it almost exclusively throughout the game. A guy that relies on deception and one pitch is sure to go through rough patches, but Cingrani is a fine short-term fantasy option while Johnny Cueto is on the DL. He has another nice matchup next week against the Cubs.
