Tomlin was optioned to Triple-A Columbus on Sunday. Tomlin was a candidate to fill one of two open rotation spots, but the Indians will send him to Triple-A and go forth with Zach McAllister and T.J. House. Tomlin is a leading candidate to be called up at some point this season after tossing 104.0 innings (25 appearances) for the Indians in 2014.
