Tolleson has been removed as the Rangers' closer, TR Sullivan of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
After a pair of disastrous outings culminating in giving up a walk-off grand slam to Oakland's Khris Davis, Tolleson has been relieved of his closing duties for the time being. Tolleson has already doubled his blown save total from last season with four blown saves in the first two months of the season. Sullivan notes that this may not be a permanent removal from the closer's role for Tolleson, but rather a move to put him in lower-leverage situations until he can regain his command. Sam Dyson is the likeliest candidate to close for the Rangers in the wake of Tolleson losing the gig.
