Tim Byrdak (shoulder, knee) is shooting to return on July 1. Byrdak in September had surgery to repair the torn anterior capsule in his left shoulder and also had a procedure to clean up torn meniscus cartilage in his right knee. The 39-year-old is ahead of schedule in his recovery, though, and it sounds like he has a shot to be a contributor for the Mets in the second half.
