Tillman gave up five earned runs on nine hits and one walk with four strikeouts in 6.2 innings Tuesday against the Blue Jays. There's a chance that Tillman's early-season struggles are the product of his inability to perform against the Blue Jays. In three starts against Toronto this season Tillman has given up 19 earned runs over 14.2 innings, while giving up eight runs over his other four starts (24.2 innings). That's really the only way to paint this in a good light. Fortunately the Orioles don't face Toronto again until late-June, and Tillman would be in line to miss them in that series if he continues to pitch every fifth day.
