Tillman (8-1) struck out nine Royals while scattering eight hits over 7.1 shutout frames in Wednesday's 4-0 win.
EDGE Analysis
Tillman had hit the skids over his last two games, giving up a whopping six homers after he'd allowed just three in his first 10 starts, but he recovered and delivered his first walk-free start of the year. The 28-year-old righty was truly in the zone, throwing 81 of his 110 pitches for strikes, and the typically contact-heavy Royals were whiffing all evening while failing to get a runner past second base. Although Tillman's peripherals suggest that his ERA is likelier to end up in the mid-to-high threes rather than its current 3.01 mark, he's outpitched them before and may well do so again this year.
