Tigers recalled RHP Jacob Turner from Triple-A Toledo. As expected, he'll make the spot-start Thursday in a promising matchup against the Royals. Turner, 20, made his major league debut in late-July, giving up two runs over 5 1/3 innings in a loss to the Angels. The Tigers plan to keep him around during the month of September in case they need an extra starter, but it's possible he could pitch in relief in order to stay fresh.
