Tigers manager Jim Leyland noted Saturday that catcher Alex Avila was tested for a possible concussion after taking a foul tip off his mask in Thursday's game, and that Avila passed all of his tests. There had been some speculation that Avila was dealing with concussion-related symptoms as well as the knee injury sustained in the collision at home plate with David Ross. He'll strap back on the tools of ignorance and return to his rightful place behind the dish for a critical Game 6 against the Red Sox on Saturday.
