Miley (shoulder) threw a side session Wednesday that went well, Bobby Nightengale of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Miley has been working his way back from a left shoulder strain that has kept him sidelined since Aug. 28. He threw a simulated game Friday, and manager David Bell said that he should return to the team soon following his successful side session. It's unclear when he'll take the mound for the Reds, but the southpaw's return appears to be imminent.
